Back in 1985 mysterious Damatta released an extremely strange game for ZX Spectrum called "Paradise Cafe". The graphics was terrible, it lacked sound, it was slow as hell and it was in Portuguese only. Moreover it had strong language and adult themes. It was like GTA San Andreas (with Hot Coffee mod and without cars) or Leisure Suit Larry of the 80th. The game has since gained a significant cult following.
After 6 month of development, this controversial ZX Spectrum game now:
- fully translated from Portuguese to English (original Portuguese version with all improvements is also available)
- running twice as faster than before
- has disturbing flickering finally removed
- has AY music added (should work with 48K with AY chip) Do you recognize this tune?
- 48K/128K compatible
- has overall playability increased
- has new random number generator
- many bugs and glitches are fixed (including nasty stack overflow)
W A R N I N G ! This game contains strong language, disgusting scenes and adult themes! But hey, it's an immersive simulator. You can do what you want and avoid other things.

This is a TAP file for old ZX Spectrum computer. So you need a real machine or emulator (e.g. Fuse which is free).

Very cool update to the timeless original., thank you very much for sharing this.
To be perfectly honest, the only change I don't appreciate is the 2x speed; I'd love to see an alternative .tap with all the other improvements, except this one.
Would also be cool to see this Deluxe version in the original Portuguese language, and I suspect there might be a public for Spanish too. Maybe someone could volunteer for the translation? Just an idea.
Other than that... when is Paradise Cafe 2 - The Revenge of Damatta coming out ?! :-D
Do you prefer to walk slower? Probably I'll implement a speed selection before game start somewhere in future.
Portuguese language is not a problem at all.
I need native speaking volunteers for Spanish or any other languages. Translation requires just redrawing of texts in .BMP files in MSpaint or similar program. So no additional knowledge is needed.
Good news then! It figures Portuguese would be easier since it's already there :)
My Spanish is rather poor or I'd volunteer myself, hopefully this reaches someone from Spain who'd be up for it, I do know from posts here and there that there is a Spanish fan base.
